A major Belgium legal publisher, Larcier carries a large number of legal reference titles. Larcier hired DBiT to electronically publish these titles, including combined full-text searching and fielded data access. For this project, DBiT chose the dtSearch Text Retrieval Engine.



“dtSearch met all of our requirements,” said Marc-Olivier Lifrange, Commercial Manager, DBiT. “dtSearch's many research options allow for extremely quick access to the reference information.” With regard to setting up the dtSearch Engine in conjunction with its client's data, said Mr. Lifrange: “We really appreciated that dtSearch documentation was very clear and complete.”

DBiT used XML to hold the many fields associated with Larcier's legal reference collections. “We had date fields, attorney name fields, case name fields, etc. In fact, in some data collections, we had over a dozen XML-based data fields.”

“dtSearch integrated well with our XML database. The result was instantaneous, highly targeted search access to the client's data,” said Mr. Lifrange. In terms of speed, added Mr. Lifrange: “dtSearch's combined full-text and fielded data was instantaneous, even with the many searching fields that we added.”
